Aquilino, Commander, U.S. Indo-Pacific Command at Aspen Security Forum: The CCP proposed the Global Security Initiative, but they flew a spy balloon directly over the continental United States. Also the CCP have discounted the international ruling that they have no valid claim on all of the area inside the nine dash line, and specifically on Second Thomas Shoal. If the international rules based order under the Global Security Initiative is orientated towards the PRC’s preference, we ought to all be concerned about that.
